The Scuba Brief website respects your privacy. This page explains what data we collect and how we use it.

Our website uses no advertising or tracking cookies. No personal data is collected when you browse the blog and tool pages.

We count visits with Umami Cloud, a cookie-free analytics service with servers in the EU. It records which page you open, the site that sent you, your browser and device type, and an approximate location (country and city) worked out from your IP address. The IP address itself is not stored, and we only see totals, so we can't tell who you are.

The dive calculators run entirely in your browser; the values you enter are not sent to our servers.

Feedback is optional. When you send a message, vote on a calculator or suggest a tool, we store what you wrote, which tool it is about and, only if you tick the box, the result and calculation steps shown on screen. We don't ask for your name or email address.

To stop spam we keep a one-way code made from your IP address together with the feedback. It changes every day, and we can't turn it back into your IP address.
